Living in Malagnou: a quiet and green residential area just a stone's throw from the city cente

Close to the city centre, the Malagnou district is very similar to Florissant-Champel: a rather chic and quiet residential area. Luxury buildings are neighbours to large bourgeois houses.

The district is not only a residential area: there are also a number of business offices, especially for commodity trading companies. This very pleasant district also features many green spaces, including the beautiful Malagnou park.

This building was designed by Geneva-born architect Marc-Joseph Saugey. It's’ a long block between the avenues of Miremont and Calas, with angular facades that give it the appearance of a cluster of glass and aluminium. It was built at the end of the 1950s and yet it still seems very contemporary, both in its aesthetics and design. This iconic place of the district was classified in 2002.

In Malagnou Park, you’ll discover an impressive series of animal sculptures. They’re related to the Natural History Museum, located in the park. This beautiful green space was developed in the 1960s by bringing together 4 plots of land. There is also the Geneva Engraving Workshop and a playground for children.
