Living in Vernier

The second largest commune in the canton in terms of number of inhabitants, Vernier is a small town that has no need to be envious of its big neighbour’s economic activity. In the wake of the opening of IKEA, the municipality decided to actively support new businesses setting up there. The ongoing development of the Étang neighbourhood is a perfect example of this. This ambitious architectural concept, which will soon house a school, a nursery, a gymnasium, a dojo, a community centre and a toy library, aims to create a locus of activity for years to come.
