Since 2023, we have carried out several ambitious projects: 2,222 m² of solar panels installed, including 232 m² of thermal panels and 1,990 m² of photovoltaic panels. But behind these numbers lies a method, led by Bruno Frisa and our Sustainable Renovation department. Our belief: every building deserves a tailored solution, far from one-size-fits-all approaches.
Cantonal regulations set clear objectives: during a renovation, panels must cover at least 30% of domestic hot water needs. For new constructions, the minimum installed power must reach 10 W/m² of gross floor area, opening the door to demanding labels such as Minergie. These standards provide a framework, but the real added value comes from a detailed analysis of each building’s constraints and opportunities.
We always start with a comprehensive energy assessment. Insulation, ventilation, and heating system modernization are often more effective levers than solar alone. When the potential is there, we propose optimized installations, taking into account seasonal yield variations and architectural specificities.
On site, our approach prioritizes consultation and transparency: informing owners, minimizing disturbances for tenants, and carefully coordinating each intervention. Thanks to our team’s commitment and ongoing monitoring of innovations, we can support every project from start to finish, always aiming for energy performance and property value enhancement.
Geneva’s solar transition is part of a climate emergency response, but it must also deal with real-world challenges: technical constraints, high costs, seasonal yield, and international dependencies. The current approach favors flexibility, incentives, and prioritization, ensuring that every intervention is adapted and effective, while gradually preparing the ground for more local and resilient energy production.
