This Pilet & Renaud development involves two buildings at the intersection of the Rue de Vermont and the Rue du Grand-Pré. The project involved an upward extension to create three new floors for each building, housing a total of 21 new apartments. The lifts were replaced as part of the works. The elegant bright-red façades of the new floors set them apart from the buildings’ lower storeys, symbolising the way in which the structures have evolved. Architecturally, this is the perfect emblem of the inward urban development advocated by the local authorities. The apartments have enabled new inhabitants to move to the heart of the Servette – Nations neighbourhood, a lively area with many shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and green spaces.
